Krishi-Gyan: Intelligent AI Chatbot for Next-Generation Agriculture
Agriculture plays a crucial role in ensuring sustaining rural livelihoods; however, farmers frequently encounter challenges due to limited access to expert guidance and modern decision-support tools.Accurate plant identification, early disease detection, and timely crop care are essential for improving yield and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.This paper presents Krishi-Gyan, an AI-powered agricultural chatbot designed to assist farmers in plant species identification, plant disease detection, and basic crop care advisory.The proposed system enables users to upload plant images or provide textual queries, which are analyzed using a deep learning-based convolutional neural network developed through transfer learning.The model simultaneously identifies the plant species and detects visible diseases affecting the plant.Based on the analysis, the chatbot retrieves relevant pesticide recommendations and essential cultivation precautions from a structured agricultural knowledge base.The system is implemented using a lightweight backend framework integrated with a user-friendly web-based chatbot interface to ensure accessibility for farmers with minimal technical expertise.The performance of the proposed approach is intended to be evaluated using standard classification metrics.Overall, Krishi-Gyan aims to bridge the agricultural knowledge gap, minimize dependence on conventional advisory systems, and provide a scalable platform for intelligent, technologydriven farming assistance.
