Accurately predicting the temporal evolution of clinical biomarkers is crucial for the early diagnosis and management of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease. However, this relies on longitudinal data to capture biomarker changes over time, which is often sparse and irregular due to the high cost, labor-intensive nature, and patient burden. To address these challenges, we propose ENC-ODE, an Event-level Neurodegenerative modeling in Continuous time with neural Ordinary Differential Equations. ENC-ODE predicts future biomarker evolution by modeling clinical events through diagnosis-conditioned continuous dynamics. A target-conditioned attention mechanism weights and aggregates event-level predictions for the target time and modality without history compression. Extensive experiments on Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) dataset demonstrate that ENC-ODE outperforms representative sequence models while offering a scalable and neuroscientifically grounded solution for clinical support. The code is available at https://github.com/JardinDelSol/enc-ode.
Modern recommender systems are typically based on deep learning (DL) models, where a dense encoder learns representations of users and items. As a result, these systems often suffer from the black-box nature and computational complexity of the underlying models, making it difficu…
Clinical code prediction maps unstructured discharge summaries to ICD-10-CM leaf codes in a large, sparse, and deeply hierarchical label space. Most systems treat the task as flat multi-label classification, scoring codes independently and providing limited training signal for ra…
Large Language Models (LLMs) inference is typically deployed under a static resource assumption, where models execute a fixed computational graph regardless of the runtime environment. However, real-world cloud infrastructure is inherently dynamic, characterized by fluctuating av…
Discrete diffusion language models (dLLMs) recover masked tokens in parallel, offering significant speedups over autoregressive (AR) generation. However, such promising frameworks face a fundamental architectural design dilemma: \ding{182} Adopting bidirectional attention achieve…
Identifying and assigning keywords at scale is a technical, practical, and ethical challenge for crowdsourced collections. This article reports the findings of the "Extracting Keywords from Crowdsourced Collections" project, which used the Their Finest Hour Online Archive, a crow…
Personalized incentive allocation is vital for e-commerce, where uplift modeling is the standard for estimating Individual Treatment Effects (ITE). However, traditional models often fail in complex multi-seller environments with violations of the Stable Unit Treatment Value Assum…
