Application of a continuous nursing model based on medical treatment combination in patients with stroke sequelae

Background This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a medical consortium-based continuous nursing model in patients with stroke sequelae. Methods A total of 60 patients with stroke sequelae were randomly assigned to either the intervention group or the control group, with 30 patients in each group. Patients in the control group received routine continuous nursing, and those in the treatment group received continuous home nursing from community medical institutions. The clinical nursing effects were compared between the two groups. Results After receiving continuous home nursing from community medical institutions, patients in the treatment group had higher scores in activities of daily living (ADL), Stroke-Specific Quality of Life Scale (SS-QOL), and nursing satisfaction, as well as a lower probability of complications, readmission rate, and medical expenses than those in the control group, and the comparison was statistically significant ( p < 0.05). Conclusion The medical treatment combination-based continuous nursing model can promote the recovery of patients with stroke sequelae and improve their self-care ability, nursing satisfaction, and quality of life. Additionally, this model can reduce the occurrence of complications and readmission rates, maximize the utilization of social resources, and lower medical costs. Therefore, it has high social value and is suitable for promotion in clinical practice.
