A Minimum/Maximum Reading of Six Publishers' Generative-AI Disclosure Requirements: A Companion Dataset

K. Yamada

This dataset records, for six major academic publishers, whether an author must disclose the use of a generative-AI tool for each of six manuscript-preparation tasks. Each answer is taken directly from the publisher’s own public author guidance, quoted at the end of this document with its source URL.Because publishers describe some tasks explicitly and leave others unstated, a single table would hide that uncertainty. This dataset therefore gives two tables: a minimum reading and a maximum reading. The truth for any uncertain cell lies between them. This is made for ordinary people who are not used to academic language but may have ideas that can contribute to science, so it deliberately makes heavy use of emoji and AI-like bold.

Paper Permission: What Publisher AI Policies Allow and Practice Withholds

K. Yamada

Publisher policies on generative AI are usually read as restrictions. Read instead as a map of delegable work, they reserve for the human author a narrow core: the integrity of primary research images, and the warranty of the claims, by which we mean the cluster of human function…

SO WHAT? GENERATIVE AI AND THE HISTORICAL REDEFINITION OF COGNITIVE COMPETENCE

Julio Cesar de Aguiar

Generative AI has entered intellectual practice with a quality best described as irresistible. Much of the intellectual response in research and education has been organized around an alarm: that these systems induce a surrender of thinking, an atrophy of cognitive capacity, an a…

Generative AI inherently triggers a computational failure mode in human observers (a "generative crash") due to a lack of latent intentionality required for Inverse Reinforcement Learning (IRL) convergence. Artistic appreciation operates as the biological execution of this IRL pr…
